CANGAS DEL NARCEA

Cangas del Narcea es una villa perteneciente a la comunidad autónoma del Principado de Asturias, situada al suroeste de la provincia, atravesada por el río Narcea y rodeada por profundos valles que conforman un perfil accidentado y montañoso donde se pueden encontrar una diversidad de fauna entre la que destaca el oso pardo, disponiendo de la mayor reserva de esta especie de todo el territorio asturiano. Por su extensa red hidrográfica también resulta ideal para la práctica de la pesca deportiva, siendo, junto con el senderismo, uno de sus principales alicientes.

Aunque la economía de Cangas está fundamentalmente basada en los sectores de la minería, la ganadería y la agricultura, también el turismo empieza a tener alguna relevancia, principalmente con la reciente inauguración del Parador Nacional del Monasterio de Corias, que, instalado en un magnífico y monumental edificio, a poco más de dos kilómetros del centro urbano, promete ser un futuro impulsor de esta actividad.

A pesar de que uno de los aspectos más conocidos de esta villa es la monumental descarga de voladores, que se celebra durante las fiestas patronales del Carmen, también merece la pena acudir a las manifestaciones folklóricas de la fiesta de la vendimia, que tienen lugar sobre mediados de octubre de cada año.

Aparte de lo anterior, y en un plano más cultural, se puede recomendar visitar el Monasterio de Corias, anteriormente mencionado; la Colegiata de Santa María Magdalena, de estilo barroco; El Palacio de Omaña, del siglo XVI, aunque posteriormente reformado en el XIX y XX; El Palacio de Toreno, del siglo XVII y el Palacio de los Llano del siglo XVIII, sin perder igualmente una visita al Museo del Vino y un paseo por la Calle Mayor y sus alrededores.

Cangas del Narcea is a village belonging to the autonomous community of Asturias, located southwest of the province, crossed by the river Narcea and surrounded by deep valleys that make up a rugged and mountainous profile where you can find a large diversity of wildlife, among which we can highlight the brown bear, having the largest reserves of this species around the Asturias territory. For its extensive river network is also ideal for the practice of sport fishing, being, along with hiking, one of its main attractions.

Although Cangas economy is essentially based on the sectors of mining, ranching and agriculture, the tourism also begins to have some relevance, especially with the recent opening of the National Parador Corias Monastery, which, when installed in a magnificent and monumental building, a little over two miles from the city center, promises to be a future driver of this activity.

Even though one of the most popular and known aspects of this villa is the monumental download of pyrotechnic rockets, which is held during the supervisory celebrations of the Virgin of Carmen, also worth going to the folkloric manifestations of the festival of the grape harvest, which takes place on mid-October of each year.

Apart from the above, and in a more cultural level, we can recommend visit the Monastery of Corias previously mentioned; the Collegiate Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Baroque style; The Palace of Oman, of sixteenth century, although later reformed in the XIX and XX; The Palace of Toreno, the seventeenth century and the Palace of the Llano, of eighteenth century, all this without also losing a visit to the Wine Museum and a stroll down Main Street and his around.

MONTAÑAS DE ASTURIAS (1)

Asturias es una de las regiones de España que más destaca por la belleza de sus espacios naturales. La proximidad del mar y la montaña ofrece, además de una gran diversidad paisajística, todo tipo de alicientes para el desarrollo de actividades turísticas y la práctica de los deportes más variados, lo que, unido a la riqueza gastronómica que atesora, con excelentes platos elaborados sobre la base de productos típicos de la tierra, regados con la bebida regional por excelencia, la sidra natural, hace que la visita se convierta en todo un placer, tanto para el cuerpo como para el espíritu.

En este breve espacio se ofrece una síntesis fotográfica de la sierra del Sueve, vista desde el Mirador del Fitu, y el Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa, con Cangas de Onís como base de partida recomendada para la realización de estas visitas.

Para quienes decidan acercarse por estos lugares, me tomo la licencia de recomendarles, como lugar de alojamiento, el Parador Nacional de Cangas de Onís, ubicado en el antiguo monasterio benedictino de San Pedro de Villanueva, edificación de estilo románico que data del siglo XII, en el que, además de encontrar un buen acomodo, en unas instalaciones concordantes con la categoría del establecimiento, podrán disfrutar de un magnífico entorno y una excelente gastronomía.

MOUNTAINS OF ASTURIAS (1)

Asturias is one of the regions of Spain that more highlights for the beauty of its natural surroundings. The proximity of the sea and the mountain offers, further of a wide variety of landscapes, all kinds of incentives for the development of tourism activities and sports practice more varied, which, coupled with the rich cuisine that treasures, with excellent dishes based on typical local products, washed down with regional beverage by excellence, the natural cider, makes the visit becomes a pleasure for both the body and the spirit.

In this short space, only is offers a photographic synthesis of Sueve mountains, viewed from the balcony of Fitu, and the National Park of Picos de Europa, with the city of Cangas de Onis as starting point for the realization of these visits.
