TIEMPO DE NAVIDAD (HISTÓRICO) / CHRISTMAS TIME (HISTORICAL)

NAVIDAD 2018

El tiempo transcurre a velocidad de vértigo y, casi sin darnos cuenta, ya estamos ante una nueva Navidad. Para los niños es el tiempo de la ilusión. Para los más jóvenes es tiempo de balances y de nuevos proyectos. Para los que ya lucimos una edad provecta es tiempo de análisis, recuerdos y añoranzas. En cualquier caso es, sin duda, la época del año en la que las emociones, de uno u otro modo, están más presentes en nuestra mente y nuestro estado de ánimo más sensible.

No es tiempo de tristeza, pero sí de reflexión y de dar gracias por permitirnos, un año más, celebrar estas fechas y, de manera muy especial, poder disfrutarlas junto a las personas queridas con las que aún gozamos y compartimos compañía y afecto.

Tampoco podemos olvidar a las personas menos favorecidas que, por vicisitudes adversas de la vida, se encuentran en situaciones de precariedad límite o padecen quebrantos de salud ingresadas en centros hospitalarios, para las que estas fechas representan más sufrimiento que alegría, y a las que, en la medida de nuestras posibilidades, deberíamos de mostrar nuestra solidaridad como seres humanos, de manera que, al menos en estos señalados días, no les falte lo más necesario.

A todos los que me honran con su visita a los contenidos de este blog, muchos miles a lo largo de muchos países de los cinco continentes, ¡FELICES FIESTAS DE NAVIDAD Y PRÓSPERO AÑO 2019!

CHRISTMAS 2018

Time passes at vertigo speed and, almost without realizing it, we are already facing a new Christmas. For children it is the time of illusion. For the youngest it is time for balance sheets and new projects. For those of us who already we have a certain age, it is time for analysis, memories and longing. In any case it is, undoubtedly, the time of year when emotions, in one way or another, are more present in our mind and our mood more sensitive.

It is not a time of sadness, but of reflection and thanksgiving for allowing us, one more year, to celebrate these dates and, in a very special way, to be able to enjoy them together with the loved ones with whom we still enjoy and share company and affection.

Nor can we forget the less favored people who, due to adverse vicissitudes of life, find themselves in situations of extreme precariousness or suffer from health breakups admitted to hospital centers, for whomever these dates represent more suffering than happiness. For them, and to the extent of our possibilities, we should show our solidarity as human beings, so that, at least in these indicated days, they do not lack the most necessary.

To all those who honor me with their visit to the contents of this blog, many thousands throughout many countries of the five continents, HAPPY CHRISTMAS PARTIES AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2019!

Incorporo, como un bonito recuerdo de tiempos pasados, la hermosa canción que Raphael y Bunbury nos ofrecieron dentro del recital de Nochebuena retransmitido por TVE, en el 2008. Espero que al escuchar este tema tan extraordinario, en voces tan privilegiadas, nos haya traído alguna nostalgia, sentimiento del que, tantas veces, estamos escasos. NAVIDAD 2014

Dentro de los contenidos  de este blog, que apenas rebasa los 4 años de antigüedad, la felicitación por estas fechas a todos sus lectores, junto con un pequeña reflexión relativa a estas entrañables fiestas de la Navidad, se va convirtiendo en toda una tradición. A pesar de que el año que estamos a punto de finalizar no ha sido pródigo en nuevas entradas del blog, aunque sí se han incorporado y ampliado páginas con información turística, ilustradas con amplios reportajes fotográficos, lo que, sin duda, no podría faltar a esta importante cita anual es la expresión de mis mejores deseos, tanto para estas fiestas como para el año que estamos a punto de inaugurar.

En la mayoría de los millones de hogares que se esparcen a lo largo y ancho de nuestro pequeño mundo, en los que, fundamentalmente con orientación católica, se celebran las fiestas de Navidad, la noche anterior a este importante acontecimiento, es decir la Nochebuena, ha sido tradicionalmente la noche más importante del año. Ha sido siempre una noche en la que muchas familias, con varias generaciones sentadas en torno a una mesa, se reúnen para celebrar la cena más esperada y más cuidadosamente preparada, dispuestos a pasar una larga y agradable velada familiar.

A lo largo de la vida de cada persona la Nochebuena va pasando por situaciones muy distintas, desde los primeros recuerdos de nuestra infancia, en los que nuestra principal preocupación era que no nos mandaran a la cama temprano, haciendo todo lo posible por mantenernos despiertos, hasta que alcanzamos el otoño de la vida, etapa en la que después de vivir muchos momentos de alegría y tristeza empezamos a notar el paso del tiempo y el peso de la soledad, sustituyendo presencias por nostalgias, todas esas noches habrán sido distintas y todas nos habrán dejado algún recuerdo imborrable en nuestra mente.

Como dice el estribillo de un conocido villancico:“La Nochebuena se viene, la Nochebuena se va, y nosotros nos iremos y no volveremos más”. Mientras que este minúsculo punto perdido en la inmensidad del universo, que es el planeta en el que habitamos, exista, posiblemente siempre se encontrará alguien que siga celebrando la Nochebuena; aunque, por ley de vida, siempre habrá quien lo haga por primera vez y quien lo haga la última. A cuantos estamos entre esos dos extremos, que el espíritu de la Navidad haga que olvidemos nuestras preocupaciones, aunque sea sólo por un día, y pasemos una noche feliz.

A todos, a lo largo y ancho de la tierra, "FELICES NAVIDADES" y prospero "AÑO NUEVO".

Within the contents of this blog, which barely exceeds four years old, the greeting at this time to all its readers, along with a little reflection on these endearing Christmas holidays, is becoming a tradition. Despite the fact that the year we are nearing completion has not been lavish with new blog posts, although yes they have incorporated some, and expanded others with tourist information and extensive photographic coverage, what could not miss at this important annual event is my expression of good wishes, both for the present holidays as for the new year that we are about to open.

In most of the millions of households that are scattered throughout our little world, where, mainly with Catholic orientation, is celebrated the Christmas parties, the night before Christmas day, ie the Christmas Eve, has been, traditionally, the most important night of the year. Has always been a night where many families, with several generations together sitting around a table, gather to celebrate the most anticipated and carefully prepared dinner, ready to spend a long and nice family evening.

Throughout the life of every person, the Christmas Eve goes through very different situations, from the earliest memories of our childhood, where our main concern was that no will send us to bed early, doing everything possible to keep us awake, until we reach the autumn of life, stage in that, after living many moments of joy and sadness, we started to notice the passage of time and the weight of loneliness, with replacing presences by nostalgia, all those nights have been different, and  all nights have left an indelible memory in our minds.

As says the chorus of a popular carol: "Christmas Eve is coming, Christmas Eve is going, and us we will go, and not more come back. While that this tiny world in that we live, lost in the vastness of the universe, exists, it may be possible to find people who still celebrating Christmas Eve; although, by law of life,  always there will be someone who does it for the first time and someone who does it by last. To all who are between these two extremes, I wish that the Christmas spirit makes us forget our worries, if only for a day, and spend a happy evening.

For all, in any place of the world, “MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR”.

EL ESPÍRITU DE LA NAVIDAD (2013)

Si bien es verdad que la Navidad es una Fiesta tradicional, compartida por la mayoría de los habitantes de la tierra, también lo es  el hecho de que, poco a poco, ha ido perdiendo su verdadero significado, el que emana de su origen, para convertirse solo en una cita gastronómica obligada con una fuerte capacidad de convocatoria para reunir en torno a una mesa, bien  provista de exquisitas viandas, a muchos amigos y familiares que, habitualmente, por diversas circunstancias y motivos, se mantienen dispersos durante el resto del año. No es que esto sea malo ni censurable, más bien todo lo contrario, aunque lo deseable sería que no quedase, exclusivamente, resumida a eso. Cualquier ocasión es buena para compartir nuestro tiempo libre al lado de aquellas personas con las que nos unen lazos de afecto y amistad, y esta, precisamente, es la más propicia de todas cuantas nos ofrece el calendario; pero, dado que es compatible, no estaría de más que también fuese ocasión para pensar en los otros, en aquellas personas a quienes la fortuna les ha vuelto la espalda, y que, golpeadas por la vida, se encuentran en situación precaria y necesitan de nuestra ayuda para sobrevivir. Aunque el sentido de la solidaridad hacia nuestros semejantes puede ser ejercido en cualquier época del año, es en esta, en la que, imbuidos por el espíritu de la Navidad, debería hacer despertar nuestra sensibilidad y remover con más fuerza nuestras conciencias. Seguro que ello nos hará sentirnos más felices y, por supuesto, contribuirá a hacer las fiestas más entrañables. Si, en estas fechas, nos mantenemos ajenos e insensibles a tantas miserias humanas que nos rodean, y no practicamos un mínimo la generosidad, no estaremos celebrando la Navidad, estaremos solamente celebrando el solsticio de invierno, o, en su defecto, para los habitantes del hemisferio Sur, el solsticio de verano.

Al igual que nos ponemos nuestras mejores galas para celebrar los acontecimientos más relevantes de nuestra vida, también es lícito y oportuno que llenemos de luz y adornemos las calles y plazas de nuestras ciudades para recibir la llegada de la Navidad; pero si ello se queda solo en una exterior y visible ostentación tendente a  elevar el estado de ánimo de los viandantes para estimular el consumo, sin que  consigamos que la alegría de las fiestas llegue a los hogares más  humildes y, sobre todo, a los que solo tienen por techo el cielo, habremos pervertido su verdadera razón de ser, convirtiendo meramente la celebración en una macro operación mercadotécnica. La felicidad, entendida como el estado de ánimo que se complace con la posesión de un bien, no necesariamente  necesita de muchas cosas, pero, indudablemente, es imposible conseguirla sin nada.

PD.- Dado que este blog, actualmente, tiene un registro de lectores que supera ampliamente la cifra de 100.000, distribuidos en más de 60 países  que abarcan los cinco continentes, entre los que existen culturas y creencias muy diversas, y que este artículo está redactado desde un concepto cristiano de la Navidad, puede que, en algunos casos, no sea muy bien entendido en la forma, aunque creo que podrá ser compartido universalmente en el fondo.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS (2013)

While it is true that Christmas is a traditional celebration, shared by most of the inhabitants of the earth, so is the fact that, little by little, has been  losing its true meaning, that which emanate from its origin, for become only in an forced gastronomic event  with a strong convening power to gather around a table, well stocked with exquisite viands, to many relatives and friends that, usually, for various circumstances and reasons, remain scattered throughout the rest of the year. Not that this is bad or reprehensible, quite the contrary, although it would be desirable that not to stay, exclusively, only to that. Any occasion is good to share our time next to those people with to whom we are linked by bonds of affection and friendship, and this dates are, precisely, the most propitious of all whichever offers the calendar; but, because it is compatible,  also should be the time to think of others, in those to whom fortune has turned his back, and that, battered by life, are in precarious situation and need our help to survive. Although the sense of solidarity with our fellowmen may be exercised at any time of the year, is in this time, in which, imbued with the Christmas spirit, should wake up our sensitivity and shake up, more strong, our consciousness. Surely that this will make us feel happier and, of course, could help to make the celebration most endearing. If, at this dates, we remain isolated and insensitive to the many human misery around us, and do not practice a minimum of generosity, we will not be celebrating Christmas, we are only celebrating the winter solstice, or, failing that,  by  people of Southern Hemisphere, the summer solstice.

Just as we put our best clothes to celebrate the most important events of our lives, it is also lawful and appropriate that we fill of light and ornaments the streets and squares of our cities for the arrival of Christmas; but if it is left alone in an outward and visible ostentation aimed for elevate the animus of passersby to stimulate consumption, without getting that holiday cheer reach to the poorer households, and especially those who have only the sky for a roof, we will pervert their true reason for being, becoming merely a operation of macro marketing. Happiness, understood as the state of mind that is pleased with the possession of a good, not necessarily need of many things, but, certainly, it is impossible to get without nothing.

NAVIDAD 2012

El tiempo corre tan vertiginosamente que, sin apenas darnos cuenta, ya estamos nuevamente inmersos en las tradicionales compras navideñas. A pesar de  que algunas profecías Mayas sitúan el fin del mundo para el día 21 de diciembre de 2012, todos hemos comprado algo de lotería para el día 22, y, por supuesto, ya tenemos enfriando el champán que esperamos consumir en Navidad y Año Nuevo, ya que, esto sí que es seguro, el 31 de diciembre lo que se termina es el año; claro que, después de este, vendrá otro, y así sucesivamente, hasta que la naturaleza se canse de todos nosotros y decida poner fin a nuestra especie, igual que lo hizo con los dinosaurios hace 65 millones de años, cuestión para la que, por cierto, estamos acumulando bastantes méritos.

Como no es momento ni ocasión de amargar la fiesta a nadie, pasemos a la parte positiva deseando a todos aquellos que tienen la deferencia de visitar este blog,  que, por cierto, ya empiezan a ser numerosos, unas muy felices fiestas de Navidad, junto con mis mejores deseos para que el año 2013 cumpla con todas sus mejores expectativas.

CHRISTMAS 2012

The time flies so fast that, without even realizing, we're again immersed in the traditional christmas shopping. Although some Mayan prophecies have put the end of the world for the day December 21, 2012, we have all bought some lottery for 22, and, of course, we have put to cool the champagne for consume in Christmas and New Year, because, and this is really safe, the December 31 the year will ends; clear that, after this, will come another, and so on, until nature gets tired of all of us and decides to end our species, as it did with the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, a matter for which, by the way, we are accumulated enough merits.

As is not the time nor the opportunity to spoil anyone the party, I move to the positive side, wishing to all those who have the courtesy to visit this blog, which, certainly, are beginning to be numerous, a very happy  Christmas, together with my best wishes for that 2013 can comply with all your best expectations.

¡FELIZ NAVIDAD! (2010)

    El tiempo rueda tan vertiginosamente que, sin  darnos apenas la ocasión de guardar los últimos bañadores que utilizamos en el verano, ya nos ha situado en la Navidad. Es tiempo de alegría, de reflexión y de recuerdo. Alegría, porque nos brinda la ocasión de reunirnos con nuestros familiares y amigos en unas celebraciones entrañables que, aparcando por unos instantes las mundanas preocupaciones y problemas que nos rodean, nos hacen sentir la profunda satisfacción de esos pocos momentos en los que realmente merece la pena vivir. De reflexión, porque el misterio que se celebra nos lleva a hacernos las preguntas que, desde el principio de los tiempos, se vienen haciendo generación tras generación: ¿Quiénes somos? ¿De dónde venimos? ¿Adónde vamos? De recuerdo, porque son fechas en las que se añoran profundamente a todas aquellas personas queridas que, por una u otra razón, se encuentras lejos de sus hogares o de sus familias, al tiempo que se rememoran a todas aquellas otras que, existiendo ya solamente en nuestra memoria, nos han precedido en el camino de la vida.

    En estas especiales fechas, no he querido perder la ocasión de felicitar a todos los lectores de mi modesto blog. Mi reconocimiento a todos los que se han interesado y siguen sus contenidos;  mi gratitud por su comprensión y tolerancia en el juicio, y mi deseo de poder seguir contando con su confianza. ¡MERRY CHRISTMAS! (2010)

     The time moves so rapidly that, without us even realizing, with the swimsuits of the summer  without saving still, we are at Christmas. Is a time of joy, of reflection and of remembrance. Joy, because it gives us the opportunity to meet with our family and friends in a celebration endearing that, parking for a moment the mundane concerns and problems that surround us, make us feel the deep satisfaction of those rare moments when you really worth live. Of reflection, because the mystery we are celebrating leads us to questions that, from the beginning of time, will have been doing for generations: Who are we? Where did we come? Where are we going?  Of remembrance, because they are dates in which deeply miss all those loved ones who, for whatever reason, are far from their homes or their families, while we remember all those others that exist only in our memory, and that have preceded us in the way of the life.

In these special dates, I would not miss the opportunity to congratulate at all the readers of my humble blog. My appreciation to all who are interested for its contents; my gratitude for your understanding and tolerance in the trial, and my desire to continue counting on your trust.
