SUGERENCIA PARA LA SOBREMESA / SUGGESTION FOR AFTER LUNCH

Because, during the Christmas holidays, we tend to park certain prejudices, forget old pains, and give some license to our stomach for a special intake of sweets, I want, but not as precedent, bring my modest contribution with this proposal of donuts, which, surely,  will be as good as the nougat, marzipan and other sweets to traditional use.

¡BUEN PROVECHO!

PARA REFLEXIONAR (TO REFLECT)

TO REFLECT

The excessive workload and sacrifices that, on many occasions, is made in voluntary form, with the apparent aim of achieving a better life, and that, in most cases, only serve to feed our vanity, can lead us, sooner or later, precisely an opposite reaction. If to this we add that we live slaves of immediacy, in the era of "faster yet," committing the mistake of looking at life as an emergency, the chances of finding serenity and personal balance become more difficult, further complicating our lives. The derivative is that people, caught for the tension exerted by the world of work, the long hours of work, the everyday problems of the home, the little time devoted to rest, etc., coupled with increasingly complicated and demanding environment in which live, suffer from anxiety and stress (understood as a version of the anxiety generated by the fast rhythm of life that takes all our time), reduce gradually the relationship with family and friends, go to live in a world that is foreign to them and, gradually, inexorably, ending in the isolation. The inordinate ambition to achieve professional success, blinded by the benefits, that not always, are attached to it, leads many people to an extreme situation that leads to their own personal failure, which, ultimately, captives by their own mistakes, end with all their dreams and projects. Excessive price for such a short trip, especially considering the often scarce and always ephemeral results, which may mortgage the rest of our lives.
Unfortunately, in the last years of our existence, in the twilight of life, when memories crowd the mind and we make the balance of our past, it is quite painful to accept as the joys provided for everything we have achieved, are very often fogged by the melancholy of everything that we lost. On these occasions, all us would wish fervently be able to rectify; but, in that time, it's too late.

As not always we have, or perhaps do not try to find, enough time to pause in our daily dynamics to reflect on our own existence, which we surely would change many of our patterns of behavior and change some criteria, I seems appropriate to include, in this brief commentary, some expressions that, read carefully and meditated deeply, could us to help that to do it.

PARA LEER, Y MEDITAR,  CON ATENCIÓNTO READ, AND TO MEDITATE, CAREFULLY

When ambition becomes greed, has no limit other than the self-destruction of the one who suffers that.

========================================

When we forget too much of others, we run the risk that they completely forget  of us.

========================================

The act always according to our conscience, is the best guarantee to live in peace the last years of our existence.

The ingratitude is the currency used by the miserable for to pay the gifts, goods and favors that they receive.

========================================

If there are many miserable lives, is because there are still many miserable with life.

========================================

Only there's just something as important as our lives: The footprint we leave when we are gone.

========================================

Although in the life is essential  set goals, the most important is not what we establish, but the roads we take for to get it.

========================================

More important that celebrate the triumphs is learning from mistakes. There is no greater mistake that not having corrected the latter committed. Every failure teaches us something we needed to learn. Keep in mind that the success usually hides what the failure always discovers

EN CONCLUSIÓN / TO CONCLUDE

In a world as material as we have built, in which we again placed on the altars of the golden calf, and the feelings being subordinated to the interests, it is important to rethink the eternal vital questions of our existence: Who are we ? Where do we come? Where do we go? In this scenario, use the readings as the "Soliloquy of Sigismund", of Calderón de la Barca, or "Verses on the death of his father", of Jorge Manrique, among others, is the more adequate for the occasion and can provide us adequate therapy.

THE ELECTION DATE OF 20-N IN SPAIN

Political battle
After a long and tedious initial election campaign, initiated in fact from the very moment that President Zapatero announced, on July 29, the call for early general elections, we fully in the real campaign that will take us until the day of reflection, saturday November 19, and finally, on November 20, we will exercise our legitimate right to vote. Unfortunately, and given that democracy has not fully reached the legislation governing the electoral process in Spain to elect the future deputies, the spanish we have only to resign with the vote an acronym only, or, which is the same, to a closed list where the names are imposed by their own political organizations, with stealing to the citizen of his ability to express their preferences. In short, we can not vote for names, only for the political parties. It is not desirable, but for now, is the only thing you can do.

   It has been the end of a new stage, perhaps the most sad and disastrous, based on results and consequences, of all of our new democracy, in which the spanish have lost almost everything without earning almost nothing, with the patronage and sectarianism as the main signs of identity. Jobs, economy, education, health, justice, and to our reputation abroad, have suffered major setbacks during this period, not only by the drift of the turbulent political and economic situation that is affecting other neighboring countries, also, to a large extent, thanks to the erratic policies of our leaders manifestly unable for to lead a country of the possibilities as Spain, in the international situation difficult moments we had and we are passing, along the paths of progress, development and modernization authentic, while, on the other hand, were buying favors, at any price, and wasting much money on trivialities or multiple projects as amazing as that of "creating a map of innervation and sexual arousal the clitoris labia, "among other frivolities that we could cite.

Zapatero "Never again"
On 20 November, those who have survived the endless barrage of promises, more or less miraculous recipes, disqualifications for the political opponent and all sorts of claims designed to capture the vote, or have had the patience or curiosity to read the statements of intent contained in the election programs of parties competing, particularly extensive in the case of PP, we have the opportunity to choose one of the models that we offer the two big parties with a real chance to govern. Without disparagement of other political formations regional or state level, which, in any case, only will be purely testimonial, the truth is that we have to decide if we stay with the devil they know or the good without knowing.

   Faced with a candidate like Rubalcaba, who does everything he can to distance himself from the policies of the once-praised and now blamed Zapatero, who lent his decisive and unconditional cooperation during all his years as a member of his government team, in different and important responsibilities, we find a Rajoy exultant and confident that, with which it has fallen, the emergency situation in which the Country is, and favorable winds that are blowing him, the way to the Moncloa Palace it is completely clear. While the socialist candidate will have to draw upon, without reservations, of all its resources: arguments, subtlety, tricks and powers of persuasion, the popular candidate is firmly convinced that only have to keep using the old Arab proverb that has been used of so skillful: continue sitting at the door of his house for to see pass the body of his enemy. In this situation, and to an impartial observer, it seems that all fish is already sold, but, nevertheless, must never neglect the element surprise. The ability of maneuverability for to alter things of Rubalcaba is virtually infinite, and, surely, has not yet pulled the last rabbit from his hat. The race has just begun and, as with any competition, the final triumph is not always fall on the side of the favorites. For that reason, it is not advisable to advance the champagne to cool.

Gesture very suspect
   As the  opinion polls produced by various means, of one and another trend, expressed full agreement with a large majority to the Partido Popular, yes, the moment of truth, the results confirm these impressions, the only thing that we want, both a team like the other, is that the new government formed by the PP be able to find a way to get us out of the labyrinth in which we have fallen. The road ahead will not be easy, will require sacrifices, and surely will cause collateral damage; the more important, what is really desirable is that it does not fall, solely and exclusively, on the weakest and disadvantaged.

   Since the situation in Spain does not support more experiments, if we want to come to fruition is necessary to correct the direction of the ship. It will require the cooperation of all, own and strange, we need to place each rower in its proper position  and row together in the same direction. Since Rajoy is very willing to do things as God intended, and hope that in this is not going to make mistakes, in God trust we  and that He protect us.

A WALK BY RIBADEO AND ITS ESTUARY

Ribadeo (Commercial port)
Although to speak of the galician estuaries is usually associated with low estuaries, those that spread from cape Finisterre to the portuguese border, in no case we should despise the potential of the high estuaries, which are located from the east of the cape cited to the boundary of the province of Lugo, in his dividing line with Asturias. Although the low estuaries have a size bigger than the rest, a great natural wealth, extensive fish farming and a significant tourist attraction, the high estuaries can make available to the visitor enough incentive in order that he does not feel ever disappointed.

Despite I know, well enough, the Galician coast, and the evolution that comes experienced during the last times, in this concrete case I want to do a brief reference to Ribadeo and his estuary, who is shared in its margin right, downstream, by small and picturesque Asturian peoples, such as Vegadeo, Castropol and Figueras.

Estuary of river Eo
Ribadeo, with an urban core near to 7.000 inhabitants, is one of the most important village of the coast of Lugo. His geographical situation, located in the northeastern end of the province, allows  to enjoy of temperatures moderated during all the stations of the year as well as of an excellent and varied landscape, that, joined an acceptable gastronomic offer and his big possibilities of leisure and free time, offers sufficient attractions to the traveler  to be considered  an appetizing place of destination. Apart of the enjoyment of his beaches and of the different tourist routes that can be realized, inside the own village and his region, during the which it is possible to estimate the features most typical of his artistic and cultural wealth, his architecture, and his estimable religious heritage, the most interesting thing, particularly for all the fans of the sports related to the sea, they are the possibilities that his sports port offers, tourist resource of the first order that allows the practice of all kinds of nautical activities in the agreeable and pleasant environment of her estuary, in which, for the lovers of the fishing, can find the most estimated species: sea basses and gilded, between others. In this respect, I believe that it is opportune make mention to an interesting managerial project that, though it is giving his first steps, I am sure that will help, once consolidated, not only to offer  an estimable service to all the lovers of the navigation and the sports fishing, but to putting a differential note in the tourist offer of this maritime and riverside locality. I refer to the company “Afloat”, put in march for the enthusiast Pedro Lázaro, whose information can be located in his web page, www.aflote.com, to whom I want, from this blog, send a cordial greeting and to wish the major of the successes.

Figueras (Partial view)
After a nice and well-deserved day of leisure, employed in any of the many and varied activities that can occupy the free time, it's time for the revitalization, meeting the needs of the stomach without to forget or disregard the satisfaction of  palate. It is not difficult to find places in Ribadeo where you can combine both, but, for true fans of the cuisine, with style and quality, do not miss a visit to the restaurant San Miguel. Its privileged location, with excellent views of day and night, coupled with the quality and selection of its products, excellent cuisine, as well as the appropriate qualification and professionalism of its staff, make this establishment an obligatory stop, that, without doubt, will leave you fully satisfied.

    When choosing accommodation, the best option, within a wide range available, and without disparagement of other possibilities, is the choice of Parador. Its strategic location, with magnificent views, and the estimable quality of their services, make it optimal to enjoy a peaceful and pleasant days.

Castropol
The warm reception that the ribadenses offer to all who visit them, general feature in almost all the people of Galicia, is always well appreciated by all who come to their land and leaves a pleasant aftertaste that invites you to return.

If you do not yet know Ribadeo, and has the opportunity to visit this village, I can give you a good tip, that I'am sure will you appreciate: be sure to visit the monastery of Santa Clara, and buy any of the products manufactured in this place by Clares nuns, than offered for sale through the lathe. Sure that, in addition to the sensations that you will carry out from this town, this will be the sweetest memory. Of course, this will be the most ephemeral, but, still, worth it.

Beach of "Las Catedrales" (Partial view)
Finally, I not want to end this brief article without recommending, as well, to visit the beach of "Las Catedrales", one of the most beautiful on the Galician coast, and probably the country, with admirable rock formations where nature offers us its enormous artistic capacity, very superior to that which can be derived from human art. What you have to take into account is that this beach, at certain times of the year, due to the large influx of visitors, has restricted access, so you must previously request the mandatory permit for the day and time you intend to visit . Reservations can be requested on the portal that the "Xunta de Galicia" has created for this purpose, using the direct access indicated below:
